I didn't even notice John and Ronon coming on the run at first, due to the emotion of the central scene. Once I saw that, I was even more curious as to what happened right before the moment shown. Teyla and Rodney do not have any of their usual gear. Rodney is unarmed and Teyla's weapon appears to be a sword similar to that of the fallen foe on the left. Perhaps Teyla and Rodney had been taken captive and Teyla saw a chance to grab a sword and go for it? Perhaps she was driven to this if Rodney's life was in immediate danger and she could not afford to wait for backup from John and Ronon? This could partly explain Rodney's espression, if Teyla has done this for him.
Of course, you could have meant something completely different, but that's what popped into my head based on what I read from the nifty details in the scene.
