About the sensitivity part, my apologies if I'm just stating the obvious, but there are two places where you can fix that, did you check both? One's on the tablet settings itself, of course, but also, in Photoshop, when you have the Brush tool selected, there are settings for it that appear on the menu/toolbar. Under that, there's an option called shape dynamics. If you don't have that checked, you won't get any variation in line width or lightness even if you're using the tablet.

Oh! I'd been mostly trying with Paint Shop Pro (because that program is much faster and I'm used to it) but I just tried it in Photoshop and, yay. Could've sworn it hadn't worked when I tried before but, yay! That's excellent!

(Sadly, there is no obvious when it comes to me and Photoshop...)

Haha, well, feel free to ask if you have questions about Photoshop stuff. I'm not necessarily an expert, but still might be able to help out. That option's usually checked on by default, maybe there was a minor hiccup the last time you tried it. I've never used paint shop pro, but there might be something similar to the photoshop thing on psp as well, or it might be under the general preferences option since pressure sensitivity should be able to be turned on or off.
