SPN 4x09 w/spoilers
I liked it, quite a bit.
That was quite enjoyable, I like the new girl. I like how spaced out and kind of nutty she seemed in the hospital but how that was completely because nobody believed her, she seemed perfectly normal once she joined up with Sam and Dean and Ruby. New demon was very impressive, I liked the sense of menace he got through, and I really liked the sets and lighting for pretty much all of the episode, felt very fitting. Cortese, I feel, can be a bit wooden sometimes, but I think she did a pretty good job here. And I definitely liked having more Sam and Ruby, especially with the flashbacks. CW did something weird on my tv where they completely left out the last two or three minutes and I just got to see the promo for the next episode. Grr, will have to find a way to watch the last bit.
About the Ruby/Sam thing, I think there'll be the "ewww necrophilia!" reactions coming from some quarters, but frankly, I see no difference between vampires sexing it up, and Ruby possessing the body of a newly dead coma patient. Season 3 had made me a little wary of the writers missing nuances of what they were saying, so even though they'd talked about the people being possessed, I was half afraid they'd forget about it when it came to Ruby because, lets face it, there was no way they wouldn't have Sam and Ruby getting it on at some point of time. I liked the solution and though it was a bit clunky, I guess it couldn't be helped and I was kind of glad for the clarity of it. And can I just say, woah muscles Padalecki, he just picked her up with one arm!
Anyway, all in all, I liked it, and I enjoyed a switch back to the more serious stuff after two lighter episodes. Next week looks like it should be good too.
