You should post shallow random crossovers more often! ;) This is very nice.

Also, Dean and Neal could totally meet over professional interests, like Dean attempts to fool Neal with a fake ID during some case or other (like an evil paiting or something like that), and Neal recognizes the inferior quality of the fake, and eventually after being saved from a monster Neal helps out Dean with better forgeries.
