Well, got and gotten are both colloquialisms so that's probably why they seem strange. They're like regional, slang-y versions of have and had, I think.
I always long for summer when I'm bogged down with class, but whenever it arrives I'm bored within the week. I'm trying to job hunt to fix that, but the hunt is... slow.
