2 am post of meandering lameness
Jun. 14th, 2008 02:01 amThings that occur to me at 2 am on a Friday night:
tenacity =/= temerity =/= audacity. I'd think someone who has tenacity would not be displaying much temerity at the same time, although he could in a way be showing some audacity, but I don't think that was the intention :/
make due =/= make do! And don't argue that it's almost the same thing!!
You cannot say something is literally happening if it isn't literally happening :/ If it was literally raining cats and dogs, it would probably be cute for a very short while, after which it would be like the roses of Heliogabalus, but with bonus teeth and claws.
Since I mentioned the roses of Heliogabalus, it made me think of Lawrence Alma-Tadema. Do look up his paintings, his people are great, but his marble is to die for.
It sucks when you look at a story summary and think, oh cool! Then you read it and it's :( It makes me think of the time when I saw the promos for Bicentennial Man, and went "oh cool!" And then I went to see it in the theater and was all :((( (I gather many people like it, but sadly, I am not part of that multitude)
Finally, if you're sitting at your desk for many many minutes staring at the blinky cursor on the update page, because you want a cool finishing line for your post but are too out of it to actually think of anything, it's probably a good sign to hit "Post".
P.S: This icon is appropriate because many many months ago, I tried to draw an abstraction of my lava lamp at 2 in the morning. This is that masterpiece.
