Second SPN Bigbang art has been posted. I meant to do this earlier, but just wanted to let people know who saw it as soon as it was posted that the story it was written for has now been linked from the art post.

Had massive amounts of fun in Germany and Paris. Finally ate escargot and currywurst. Sadly, missed out on trying black pudding, but was assured that I maybe didn't miss much? Was gifted a beret (not raspberry colored). Bought a big bag of madeleines. Wore dresses and skirts most of the time, therefore being more femininely dressed in one trip than I have cumulatively been in the last two years. Met/stayed with three really, really good friends from high school time and am now missing them almost as much as I'm missing all the delicious food (what? food is important). However, am not that sad to be back either *hugs laptop*

It's been ages since I posted a poll, so, without further ado:

What?? Nobody else has a favorite font??? :O

Also, food is totally the best part about going anywhere. I agree with your priorities.

Heh, people were apparently waiting for someone to break the ice there, so go you! A few more brave souls have responded now.

Also, yes! I'm always amazed at how many people don't seem to think the same way. People, I can talk to, but Skype-ing with food is kind of unsatisfactory and they never respond to emails.

And the great thing about food is, if you get tired of something while you're eating it, but think you might want it later, you can put it in the fridge.

People seem to respond poorly when I do this to them mid-conversation.

Maybe I just need to stop stuffing them in tupperware. Saran wrap would work just as well, right?

Yep. And aluminum foil if you think you won't need them till a lot later and want to put them in the freezer.

I'm watching Memphis Blues, the new seasons of White Collar, Burn Notice and Royal Pains.

I love White Collar! Must catch up on it, I missed the last couple of episodes. I liked the pilot of Burn Notice but then kind of forgot to follow up on the rest.

Actually the local variant of black pudding here was among my favorite dishes as a kid when I still ate meat. It's one of the few meat dishes I am missing the taste of even after almost two decades being vegetarian. The one here is eaten fried and besides pig's blood, there are groats in it (I think barley or oat) also raisins (possibly also offal? I'm not sure, but sausages are obviously notorious for using all parts without tasting like them). Anyway, the texture is somewhat like when you fry cooked grain, and the blood softens inside, but you get a nice crust from it, and the sweet savory contrast is nice too. It looks a bit odd but is definitely tasty if you don't mind the animal parts.

Aww, I'm sad again that I missed it then. It sounds quite interesting. Maybe someday...
