This is awesome — I love how the effect of shooting the spirit works with the sharpness of the silhouettes and the atmosphere of the gradiated backgrounds, the way the trees are so skeletal and eerie. I'm dying to know what Sam is looking at in his right hand — a map? A letter? And that bit of gunsmoke and the flashlight as the two brightest points of light against the two darkest areas — what a fabulous eye-drawing technique.
Thank you so much for this lovely comment! Sam's looking at/reading out something like a banishing spell while Dean takes care of the immediate problem. I'm really glad the smoke and flashlight worked well, I wanted a little bit of departure from the general darker tones and figured those two would work. I'm really glad you liked it :)
