An Ode to Asparagus

Oh Asparagus! Your delightful stalks do entice me,
Thin and crunchy, whispering "come bite me",
Not from a can no, because that's just gross;
Only the fresh ones can arouse my purple prose.
And if some lemon juice in the fridge I see
Why, then in gastronomic heaven shall I be.

Ooh, asparagus! I'm making an asparagus pasta tonight - the asparagus is chopped up and sauteed in olive oil with five minced garlic cloves and some red pepper flakes, then tossed with cooked medium-sized tube shaped pasta and a dash or two of hot sauce... MMMmmmmm sogood. Man, I love asparagus season.

Ahaha, the ode was born partly from disgust of canned asparagus and partly from staying awake all night trying to finish a paper. Would love to see your ode to chocolate :D

Asparagus...yummy stuff. Cook to crunchy tender, wrap with thin ham layer, then crepe layer. Douse with hollendaise. Slice, bite, orgasm.
