I was just about to go to bed, and thought I'd have one more check of LJ - and your post was at the top of my flist!
I'm kind of a broken record about this, but it's just GORGEOUS.
I love.. I love.. well everything about it, but specifics. Okay. I love the blinds at the window, and the shadow of the tree outside, because that's exactly how I imagined it in my head. I love both boys' expressions, wee Sammy's worried-but-trying-not-to-be face, and Dean's concerned but slightly exasperated one.
I love the radio alarm - with its kryptonite green numbers, and I love the plaid blankets on their beds.
I love both of the boys' arms, the crook of their elbows, with the light spilling in from the street light outstide. And I love Dean's knee bent like that, the sign that he's ready to get up and watch out for Sammy.
Such gorgeous attention to detail, you managed to reach into my head and paint exactly what I pictured.
Thank you so much. I would like to link to this in a post tomorrow, if you'd allow me.
Aw, thank you! I was a little worried about it since you said you had a clear image in your head, I'm glad it fit so well! And feel free to link, does anyone ever say no to something like that? :D
Wow! I like how the difference in age is easy to see; the pattern and rumpledness of the blankets; and the window blinds (!!!) with the tree and moon outside. Awesome.
thank you for sharing this picture, I am sure others have said this better than I but you are a truly talented artist the quality of this so life like I feel that if I stretch out my hand and touch the screen I would feel the wool of the blankets and the warmth of the boys skin.... again thank you...
you know what I really like about this: their expressions and (I know that I've said it before but it needs repeating) the way that you use colour and light. It's especially apparent on the blankets -- lovely.
