I have portabella and shittake mushrooms. Anyone have recipes for either that they have tried and loved?

I also have new boots. Boots that I did not buy at a thrift store, that are almost stylish, that flex nicely, that do not give me ankle-twisty nightmares with their heels and that, above all, did not make my skinflinty little self cry.

I am now drawing the team as pirates and totally making up what a pirate ship looks like because frustratingly enough no one has a good recreation of one online at the angle I want that I could shamelessly copy off of. Why must people be so inconsiderate?

Not so much a recipe as my favorite hot sandwich ever. Throw a portobello cap in a skillet, saute it with whatever spices you like. Then saute some spinach with plenty of garlic and some salt. Put the spinach and the mushroom on a hard roll and top with extra-sharp provolone. YUMMY.

I've seen portabella mushrooms used as kind of meat stand-ins in a lot of dishes? I have never tried this myself, but... yeah, I don't know where I was going with that, I fail at advice XD But I'm watching some Iron Chef America behind-the-scenes thing right now. That feels appropriate somehow.

and: I ALSO TRIED TO DRAW PIRATES!SGA LONG AGO AND FAILED because of the same goddamn problem with ships. Also because I looked at too much of Craig Mullins' art and then wanted to kill myself. >:(

I REMEMBER. Also, it is why I have a close up shot and total fabrication of the ship in whatever parts you can see it. It isn't like someone can actually criticize the build of it because, hey, non-existent pirate ship! At least I hope no one can. And also, if I had to kill myself every time I saw someone better than me at this art stuff, well, this would be my ghost typing. I have learned to embrace the non-excellence.
