How to have a really problematic story:
Introduce one half of OTP. Introduce job partner OFC. Describe OFC as tough as nails and give her some good lines and an interesting personality with depth (but don't forget to mention that first half of OTP is still intuitively much better at the job in much less time). Introduce other half of OTP. And then, make previously platonic relationship between first half of OTP and OFC into a mess where OFC is now in love with him and therefore loses her perspective, brains and rationality at no reciprocation (since obviously OTP belong together even if they were both previously completely straight). Then, have OFC murdered really brutally by killer in story even though she is in law enforcement and should have been able to fight back at least somewhat. *sigh*

Three more hours to go. And how's your day going?

Brutally murdered by killer in story who she has been obsessed with catching for years and years, and could maybe have been a little bit prepared for, no less!

I do believe we have both encountered the same story. Bah. Leaves a really bad taste in my mouth.

I guess you've seen this story on one of the comms, or, even more sadly, have encountered other stories that actually fits the description too. *sigh*

I actually don't recall a specific recent story, it's more a "huh, that sounds familiar..." thing, but my ability to repress selective memories from stories is very well developed and efficient, so I guess it could have been recent.
