Emotional H/C yay! Poor Teyla. I love the concern on Rodney's face and the way he seems to be hesitating, unsure whether he should hug her or not. The sepia tones work very well.
This is wonderful - very poignant and heartbreaking. Oh, Teyla. I love Rodney's hesitant, awkward gesture (so endearingly Rodney), and that you can see a glimpse of John running towards them.
Thank you so much :) I seem to like putting Rodney in the role of the caregiver because it seems so uncharacteristic at first glance but would be so endearingly awkward coming from him.
Oh, Teyla. She looks so awesome. I adore Rodney's comforting almost!embrace and the way she has her eyes close, as if knowing that she can finally let her guard down.
I got the card! Thank you, it's gorgeous! :) I love that particular scene from Hot Zone, it's one of my favorites. Hey, if you'd like, I can scan it in so you could post it.
Don't worry about it, I'm just glad you liked it and that you got it :) I meant to actually send you one last year, but, oh well, just one year late XD
Ooooo. Really like it. I agree with all the above on the emotion of the scene, how drained Teyla is, and how deeply concerned Rodney is, yet still hesitant, unsure how to react after the intense fight he no doubt just witnessed.
I didn't even notice John and Ronon coming on the run at first, due to the emotion of the central scene. Once I saw that, I was even more curious as to what happened right before the moment shown. Teyla and Rodney do not have any of their usual gear. Rodney is unarmed and Teyla's weapon appears to be a sword similar to that of the fallen foe on the left. Perhaps Teyla and Rodney had been taken captive and Teyla saw a chance to grab a sword and go for it? Perhaps she was driven to this if Rodney's life was in immediate danger and she could not afford to wait for backup from John and Ronon? This could partly explain Rodney's espression, if Teyla has done this for him.
Of course, you could have meant something completely different, but that's what popped into my head based on what I read from the nifty details in the scene.
Wow! So much in one drawing! Thanks for sharing!! Best, chev
Thank you so much for the really lovely comment, I love it when people talk about their reactions to my work. Your assumptions are actually pretty much what my thoughts were too, I'm so glad that they came across to you the same way. Thank you for commenting!
See what I love about this drawing is that they way you've drawn Teyla is how she *should* look and how she *should* be built given her characters lifestyle/enviorment. Awesome.
I love this! the action that has happened (Teyla obviously majorly kicked ass), the action that is happening (John & Ronon running towards her in the background, and Rodney reaching to comfort her)--but the moment of stillness you've captured between what has happened and what has yet to happen. I don't know if what I said made any sense, but the image is very emotionally moving...
