baby + John and Rodney

Hm, something of an experiment with color and lines?

This one's mainly because I wanted to draw John with a baby and Rodney looking tender but is also mainly because sheafrotherdon's Farm in Iowa universe is simply wonderful and the latest Christmas part of it melted me into a pile of ileliberte mush.

Wow! I love how Finn looks just as you'd expect a child of Rodney's to look. And I love the way they're walking -- you've even captured their distinctive postures and gaits perfectly, and with such a light touch. Fabulous work.

I love the contact John has against Finn's little body - his cheek pressed into Finn's hair, both arms around him protectively, his hand under Finn's butt - and the eye contact between Finn and Rodney just tops it all off. It's gorgeous.

I like the movement and naturalness of the depictions. I also like that you have Rodney carrying the diaper bag. Somehow, that's very in-character for him.

If there's a baby, there has to be a diaper bag around close by :D Rodney would definitely be more likely to calculate exactly how many might be needed and remember to bring it along rather than John. Glad you liked it :)
