You know you've been in SGA fandom for a while when someone gleefully tells you to click on some story advertising itself as cookie porn and it turns out to not be a strange euphemism for lots of baking and food joy, but actual cookie porn, and somehow, you're not even that surprised. However, I am somewhat traumatized. Laughing hard. But also, traumatized.
Animation is hard. Every little thing needs attention. Also made harder by the fact that I couldn't figure out a way to see the main stage that I needed to be animating on because in my efforts to be all "I don't need no stinkin' tutorial, I can figure it out myself!", I managed to click something that hid the main working surface. Kind of like trying to draw on a canvas by poking a canvas-less easel and hoping the canvas magically appears.
I am currently drawing people underwater and trying to decide between strategically placed dolphin (for whatever passes for realism when it comes to underwater AUs) and silly huge shells (Ariel she is not. But what else!) as upper body raiment for our redoubtable heroine. I am simultaneously trying to draw a completely unamusing horrific wasteland, Dean with a rabbit, Teyla as flak jacketed cop and John as plucky bus driver civilian a la gender-switched Speed, and people trapped in an Escher-ian never ending landscape (yes, they're all unrelated).
Speaking of Escher, this reminds me of the drawing I made in class my freshman year.
I still have insane love for it though I do think I've gotten a lot better since then, but there's something so amazing about looking at ordinary things from such a weird perspective. When I was younger and getting bored of my room, sometimes I'd bend over and look up at my room upside-down through between my legs. It always made it look all new and exciting again.
As a reward for reading this far, here, have a song:
Nazron ke milne se(At the meeting of eyes), a soft and sweet song with music by A.R. Rahman, from a Hindi movie called Vishwavidhaata.
Hosted on my site, so right click and download and please let me know if you're taking it :)
If you're interested in more music, use the music tag, I have quite a few Indian (and a few Pakistani) tracks up.

Date: 2008-03-28 12:42 pm (UTC)Hope you figure out the animation thingy, and all I can say about the cookie porn is that I may never eat Girl Scout cookies again. Which, you know, wouldn't be such a bad thing for my figure.
