Title: Under grey skies of silence Rating: G Random moment in a random valley with backlighting? And hey, silhouettes again... (title from The Cerulean Sky by Sam Barry)
There's something really lovely and peaceful about this, and I just sat for a while with it before writing this. I like the different shading on the boys versus the tops of the hills and the tree, like the sun's just coming up after a night hunting. The tree's leaves are so intricate and pretty, nice balance to the stark/sharp lines of the rest of it.
This such a lovely comment, thank you! I generally like most of the stuff I do, but I have so much love for this one even though it probably took me way less time to do than a lot of other stuff because I had all the things you mentioned running through my head so a lot of stuff is suggested even if only a few things are shown. I'm really glad you liked it :)
HAHAHA You know, I'm definitely on your level because even as I was thinking of the quietness of the moment etc. I had exactly the same thought when I put Dean there XD
Thank you so much, I love working with silhouettes (surprise!) and it's always great when it turns out the way I wanted it to :)
I love the sense that Sam and Dean are in a really large, open area, despite the lack of depth in the silhouettes. :) Also, to echo someone else, I like the tree and its falling leaves. (And the little bitty birds in the air.) <3
This is gorgeous. I especially love the feeling of moving forward, though since it's a silhouette you can't tell where they're going, only that they are. Did it take you a very long time to do?
Thank you so much! It actually didn't take me long, sometimes I just get a really clear concept of what I want to show, i.e. silhouettes with a sense of space behind the boys and a suggestion of variable light and movement and then it just came along pretty easily. Silhouettes can be both simple and tricky that way, if it works it means less time showing all the details that I would have had to on a fully lit piece, but if I can't make the details easily identifiable, then it's just a headache. This one thankfully was the former. I'm really glad you liked it :)
Mmmm.... this is full of context and wonder. I need to recc this to someone. Especially love the leaves because they look like ravens... thanks for sharing!
i love the random bridge in the background, and how recognizable the boys are even in silhouette. (i had to retype that four times before it looked right. >.< )
Sorry for the late response, but thank you so much! I'm chuffed you mentioned the bridge because even though I added it last, it's probably my favorite little fussy detail of the picture :D

You are just awesome at these. The tree and the Impala seriously MAKE this one, and of course those silhouettes of the boys are approaching iconic.
